Challenge
The development of a White Paper on the competitiveness of the agriculture sector was an election commitment by the Government in The Coalition’s Policy for a Competitive Agriculture Sector. The White Paper is helping be the Australian Government’s policy to grow agriculture’s contribution to our economy, job creation and national prosperity.
The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet requested the Agricultural White Paper website be moved to the Department of Agriculture’s web platform for the conclusion of the Agricultural White Paper taskforce. The website was needed to be migrated to agwhitepaper.agriculture.gov.au and a new visual design implemented. The launch of this new site was aligned with the Minister’s announcement of the White Paper in June 2015.
Approach
Amicia Consulting team was engaged to build the website on SharePoint 2013 based on specified requirement and strict deadline.
Initial Agricultural competitiveness White Paper was build on Drupal and hosted with Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of Agriculture was required to migrate the website and develop new branding.
Amicia Consulting team worked with Department of Agriculture’s Design team to develop elegant website graphic design material.
Amicia’s team translated the design material into HTML markup by hand coding the design into HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML/XSLT.
Our team created SharePoint website to host the new website on the Department’s SharePoint environment and liaised with HPE to carry out related DNS changes.
HTML markup was implemented by Amicia’s team onto SharePoint 2013 by creating master design and layouts. SharePoint design were tested again for mobile and tablet devices.
Structure:
The new website was structured by white paper themes and will include an overarching home page and a summary page for each theme. A PDF document breakdown was included within each theme. Each theme has an introductory paragraph. Links are also be required to relevant existing and new policy/programme pages.
